EI4GYB Amateur Radio Station in Ireland
Thirty something years ago I was messing around with Walkie-Talkie's, CB radios and Short Wave receivers. One day using a 23 channel CB, 4 watts and a home brew quarter wave ground plane (located in the front garden) I worked a station in Holland (sporadic-E lift). I had just been introduced to to Long Distance Radio Wave Propagation! and as they say "the rest is History".
So not much has changed really..... Just trying to push the envelope another little bit, looking long path instead of short, hunting down that elusive DXCC, trying to make the last few contest qso's or just looking for an old friend for a rag chew. This web site is a scrapebook looking at various aspects of Amateur Radio which relate to my station set up and activities over the years. I'm constantly adding new amateur and ham radio related topics, live propagation updates and Ireland's latest radio news here and on the EI4GYB facebook so please check back often and have a look around. I hope you enjoy your time here and maybe find something of interest or use. Best 73' Roly |
